Rekonstruksi Pemahaman Tauhid Terhadap Mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari Perspektif Epistemologi Bayani dan Burhani

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reconstruction of the understanding of monotheism of students of the University of Muhammadiyah Kendari through the perspective of bayani and burhani epistemology. The focus of the research is directed at how students understand monotheism not only as a normative-theological teaching, but also as a foundation for rational, ethical, and social thinking in academic and daily life. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection technique is carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and distribution of questionnaires to students who have taken the Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) course. The results of the study show that students' understanding of monotheism is still dominated by bayani epistemology which is oriented towards the authority of religious texts. However, some students began to develop a burhani approach that emphasizes rationality, logic, and empirical reflection in understanding Islamic teachings. This research also found that the integration of bayani and burhani epistemology becomes a model for the reconstruction of the understanding of monotheism that is relevant in modern Islamic higher education. This integration is able to form a more contextual, critical, and transformative understanding of monotheism so that it is not only oriented to ritual aspects, but also to the development of science, academic ethics, and social responsibility of students
