Abstract

This study aims to analyze Islamic Religious Education (PAI) material which is oriented towards strengthening the values of peace and brotherhood and examine its implications in shaping the character of students in the educational environment. The research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method. Data was obtained from various primary and secondary sources, including PAI textbooks, curriculum documents, scientific articles, and relevant literature on peace education and ukhuwah in Islam. Data analysis is carried out through content analysis techniques to identify the concepts, values, and educational messages contained in PAI materials. The results of the study show that PAI material has a strong substance in instilling the values of peace and brotherhood through the teachings of monotheism, morality, tolerance (tasamuh), justice (al-'adl), compassion (rahmah), deliberation (shura), as well as the concepts of ukhuwah Islamiyah, ukhuwah wathaniyah, and ukhuwah insaniyah. These values play a role in building mutual respect, reducing the potential for conflict, and developing a culture of harmonious living in a pluralistic society. However, the implementation of these materials still requires strengthening through contextual and dialogical learning strategies so that students are able to internalize peace values more effectively. The implications of this study show that the development of peace-based PAI learning materials and models can be a strategic instrument in forming a moderate, tolerant, and committed generation to unity and social harmony in the midst of the diversity of Indonesian society.
